Dawn has received several certifications specializing in trauma, informed care, and substance abuse, treating children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Been in private practice for 5 years. Registered with the National Provider Identifier database since January 2016.

Licenses and certifications include: Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH), Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS), Trauma-Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC).

Therapeutic Approach

Possess a special training and skill in assessing patient mental health and treating cognitive, psychological, and behavioral disorders using a wide variety of therapy techniques. As a Professional Counselor, I perform diagnosing and treating mental and emotional disorders, providing therapy to clients in individual and group {family} settings, research into advanced therapy techniques and applications, and referral to medical mental health professionals as needed.

Get to Know Dawn

Dawn, a Philadelphia native, is a licensed mental health professional who obtained a Doctorate in Social Science with a concentration in Prevention Science from Wilmington University and receiving a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling.

 

Dawn is the CEO of Tranquil Solutions for a Centered Mind, LLC, Camp BLISS Kids, Inc., and Total Renewal Wellness Center, LLC. She is also the Division of Prevention and Behavioral health Services’ Systems of Care Implementation and Expansion Grant (SOC) Community Resource specialist and a former Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) for the State of Delaware. Dawn works with her K-9 companion, a Certified Therapy Dog with PAWS for People and Canine Good Citizen, Duke Ellington of Delaware, a trained Goldendoodle.

Dawn and Duke became a PAWS therapy team in December 2016. Since joining PAWS, the therapy team has frequently visited Terry Psychiatric Center for Children, Ferris School for Boys, and The Cottages. They spend most of their time between her private practice and community engagement programs. This therapy team works together to conduct Mental Health Risk Assessments to determine if a child is in crisis and address trauma.
