A first-generation hybrid canine breed, crossed between, bitch golden retriever and stud standard poodle. A highly-skilled and solutions-oriented Certified Assisted Pet Therapy Animal with a demonstrated track record of success working with diverse client populations including cognitively and developmentally disabled children, elementary/middle/high school level students, and families in a one-on-one setting. Caring and loving dog with inherent ability to develop trust quickly, relate to individuals on all levels and manage all types of personalities. Bringing a sense of calm to clients in need through animal-assisted therapy. It is an approach used to enhance and complement the benefits of traditional therapy.

Public Appearances

Dawn and Duke became a PAWS therapy team in December 2016. Since joining PAWS, the therapy team has frequently visited Terry Psychiatric Center for Children, Ferris School for Boys, and The Cottages. They spend most of their time between her private practice and community engagement programs. This therapy team works together to conduct Mental Health Risk Assessments to determine if a child is in crisis and address trauma.
